چکیده
Abstract Empirical relationships for estimating Uniaxial Compressive Strength (UCS) of rock from other properties are numerous in literature. This is because the laboratory procedure determination UCS compression tests cumbersome, time consuming, and often considered expensive, especially small to medium-sized mining engineering projects. However, these empirical models scattered literature, making it difficult access a considerable number them when there need select model estimation UCS. leads bias estimated data as may be underestimation or overestimation UCS, site-specific nature properties. Therefore, this study develops large database between that reported literatures. Statistical analysis was performed on regression equations developed. The typical ranges mean used developing regressions, range their R 2 values were evaluated summarised. Most found developed reasonable quantity with moderate high values. can easily assessed appropriate equation estimate specific site.

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Estimation of Soil Infiltration in Agricultural and Pasture Lands using Artificial Neural Networks and Multiple Regressions
Common methods to determine the soil infiltration need extensive time and are expensive. However, the existence of non-linear behaviors in soil infiltration makes it difficult to be modeled. With regards to the difficulties of direct measurement of soil infiltration, the use of indirect methods toestimate this parameter has received attention in recent years. Despite the existence of various th...
متن کاملEVALUATION OF CONCRETE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK AND MULTIPLE LINEAR REGRESSION MODELS
In the present study, two different data-driven models, artificial neural network (ANN) and multiple linear regression (MLR) models, have been developed to predict the 28 days compressive strength of concrete. Seven different parameters namely 3/4 mm sand, 3/8 mm sand, cement content, gravel, maximums size of aggregate, fineness modulus, and water-cement ratio were considered as input variables...

Uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) and elastic properties of rocks play a major and vital role for the design of any engineering structure. The specimen diameter size is one of the main factors that influencing on UCS, elasticity modulus and Poisson’s ratio (E and υ). Here, an attempt has been made to investigate the effect of specimen diameter size on UCS, E and υ. Moreover, we studied the co...
متن کاملUsing the Point Load Test to Determine the Uniaxial Compressive Strength of Coal Measure Rock
Point load testing is used to determine rock strength indexes in geotechnical practice. The point load test apparatus and procedure enables economical testing of core or lump rock samples in either a field or laboratory setting. In order to estimate uniaxial compressive strength, index-to-strength conversion factors are used. These factors have been proposed by various researchers and are depen...
